Extra Pounds Story | Mia Peltrow
Life with extra pounds
Hi, my name is Mia Peltrow, am 23 years old and I’m a student. Since childhood I have had quite a few extra pounds, but back then it did not bothered me. As a teenager I became very complex. All the time I was on a diet, go to the gym … without much success.
4-5 years I have not weighed at all – I was afraid to go up on the scale. Until last year, in May. When I saw the “wonderful” results, in which it is true, “I invested” a lot. I knew I was overweight, but I did not expect to be quite so many extra pounds. I was shocked when I saw that I had … more than 200 pounds and reaches 220 (100 extra pounds). I thought that was impossible, unreal, but it was the truth. Eating chaotic, late hours, often and more seriously had put his mark on my body. I decided to do something to look better, to feel better.
So I started a diet and went back to the gym – it didn’t made me happy, but in time I liked it. I started the diet with a mistake – I starved. Some days I ate almost nothing – I was not feeling well, I had nausea and dizziness. Then I created a balanced menu for a long term. I didn’t have a drastic diet. I focused on yogurt with cereal, turkey, beef or fish, fruits and vegetables, and water.
My daily diet
Breakfast: yogurt with oat bran or psyllium, a few slices of vegetables (cooked or raw), fruit (everything except banana).
Lunch: soup, a bowl of chicken, fish or beef grilled.
Evening (until 19:00): a salad (lettuce, pepper, grated carrot – is delicious) with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Snacks: fruit, some digestive biscuits, 4-5 almonds.
Of course there were days when I strayed from the diet, eating food cooked or scrambled eggs in the morning, but not very often.
Besides diet, my biggest help was sport. In the first month I went to the gym every day, then the next month I went to run the stadium. I was doing 10 to 12 laps every evening – I never thought I could.
That feeling when you look good!
It was hard with my extra pounds, but seeing results of my diet made me go on. Had reached 150 pounds in 2 months. Then I stopped the sport, because I had a kidney problem (not related to weight loss). I didn’t did sports anymore (more rarely go swimming), but I watched what I ate. “The break” lasted a month. When I weighed and, to my surprise, I was 130 pounds. I lost 20 pounds since I was only paying attention to nutrition.
Now, after 3-4 months, I have the same weight, no extra pounds. I watch what I eat, or go out sometimes to run the Kangoo Jumps.
I had a lot of ambition when I saw the results. I was helped by the people around me, because they always said I lost weight and I look good. I lost weight fine, no stretch marks, no ugly skin and I feel very good.
Good luck to all who are struggling with extra pounds!
