Foods That Actually Help You To Burn Abdominal Fat
As you probably know, eating clean is such a big and really important part of a healthy lifestyle. You can not out train a bad diet. Just because you did 30-day butt lift challenge or 100 squats challenge does not mean that you can go ahead and stuff your face with burgers, pizza or coke.
So if you want to look healthy and be in the best shape you’ve ever been, you gotta feed your body the right foods. And these are real, unprocessed foods that come from the earth with ingredients that you can actually understand. I call these foods nutritiously dense.
What Foods Burn Abdominal Fat?
So today I wanna share with you foods that actually help you burn abdominal fat. These foods are typically found into 2 categories, and the first category is:
1. Foods That Prevent Blood Sugar Spikes
Examples of foods that will prevent blood sugar spikes are foods like salmon, avocado, olive oil, beans and almonds. All these foods are high in either protein, fat or fiber. This means it takes longer for them to get digested and this will prevent that sharp increase of blood sugar spikes.
Blood sugar is literally the sugar in your blood. If you eat white bread, fast food, whole milk or white rice you will have a rapid increase in your blood sugar. So this actually makes your hormones go out of whack and then they go crazy and then you get an increase in your abdominal fat.
Another reason why these foods are awesome to burn abdominal fat is because it actually takes more energy (or calories) to digest the food. When you eat fat or carbs it takes 5-15% of the calories in the food to actually digest them. Whereas with protein you burn about 20-30% of the calories in the food. This happens because the bonds from the protein molecules are really hard to break, so your stomach has to work extra hard to physically break them down. And that is why you bur abdominal fat when you eat proteins.
Because these foods are high in protein and fiber, they keep you fuller longer so that you don’t overeat. This is extremely important because I feel like a lot of times people say they eat healthy and don’t burn abdominal fat. Well, even if you eat oatmeal and chicken, if you eat too much an excess of calories is still an excess of calories. And this will cause you to gain weight. So try to eat foods that will keep you fuller longer if you really want to burn abdominal fat.
That’s why I always tell you to stay away from processed foods.
2. Foods That Speed Up Metabolism
Foods like green tea, cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar and foods high in protein like eggs, meat and fish will help you to speed up your metabolism. So a cup of green tea or a teaspoon of cayenne pepper help you burn 10-20 extra calories a day. This is not so much when you think that you need to have a deficit of 3500 calories to lose one kg of fat. But trust me, it counts and in long time you’ll see the results.
Exercise
Adding these 2 types of foods into your diet will help, but if you really wanna change your body and burn abdominal fat, you need to incorporate exercise too. It’s all about that healthy lifestyle as a package.
Exercise is really important not just because you are burning calories, it will help you to increase muscle mass, and this is essential. When you have more muscle in your body, you’re burning more calories at rest than if you had less muscle.
A really great way to get muscle mass is to do strength training. And this doesn’t mean you need to go to the gym and lift weight. You can just use your body weight to increase your muscle mass. Here are some bodyweight exercises.
Sleep
If you’re doing all that and you feel like you still have some lower belly fat, not sleeping enough could be the culprit.
When you’re not sleeping enough your body thinks you’re stressed. And when you’re stressed your levels of cortisol will increase and when this happens you get more lower belly fat. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. So make sure you go to bed, let your muscles relax, let your mind relax and everything will start flowing.
To summarize real quickly, if you want to burn abdominal fat you need to:
- Eat high protein and high fiber foods;
- Add green tea, cayenne pepper and vinegar for an extra burn;
- Do not overeat, even if it’s good food’
- Increase your muscle mass;
- Sleep enough.
